Silly Bay
About this time six years ago, we had just found out that we were having a baby girl. We already had the names picked out and were just waiting to find out if our little bundle of joy would be a Bailey or a Justice. At the same time, I kept hearing from many moms to “enjoy this time, it goes by so quickly”. I remember thinking, “Okay, I’ll do that”, not realizing just how true that statement really was. I can’t believe how quickly it goes by. It’s crazy how much change occurs in your child’s life in the first five years and also how much change you personally experience. There is nothing in the world like having your first child! It’s such a learning experience that causes you to grow in so many ways.
The other statement that really stuck with me during that time of life was from all the parents who said, “you’ll see how your life is not your own”. Again, this was something I didn’t really understand until I had my baby girl and suddenly realized that every decision I made didn’t just effect my husband and I, but our new daughter and her future. It’s a wonderful thing to be shaken up and changed like that forever!
Now our “baby girl” is almost six years old and just graduated from preschool. Now I sit here and, again, recall my need to “enjoy this time, it goes by so quickly”. I am so proud of our Bailey-girl. I am excited to watch her grow and her love of education grow. She is a focused little girl and always has been. She loves to read! She loves to “do numbers” and especially loves to draw and color. She also loves to teach her little brother what she has learned. She is a Daddy’s girl and is a blessing to have in our family. I’m excited to see how she continues to grow in the coming years. We love you Boo-Boo Chicken!

They do grow up so fast, don’t they? Jude is saying so many words now and practicing independence. I love it and am excited to see the man he’ll become while at the same time, I want him to stay my little baby Jude forever. Congratulations beautiful Bailey!

Kristi, how crazy that we named our kids the same. My husband originally wanted to spell our Bailey’s name the way you spelled your Baleigh. Now, that is a coincidence as well! What a small world. How old are your kids?
