Last night it took Bay and Just FOREVER to actually get to sleep. They both wanted to sleep in their school clothes so they would be ready as soon as they woke up in the morning. After about 5 whole minutes of explaining why they couldn’t do that, they settled with laying the clothes out at the foot of their beds. They both were so excited to start school today!!! Bailey is in first grade this year and Justice started kindergarten.
I can’t believe my sweet, baby boy is now in kindergarten! As Piper and I were walking out of the school this morning, I was passing all the other parents and kids who were equally excited and I was “that mom” who was trying not to shed a tear for my “big boy”! Time flies by so quickly and it feels like yesterday that I was giving birth to him and had almost all the ladies from our family in the room when he made his first appearance. I’ll spare you the picture from that day, but trust me it feels like it was just yesterday.
Apparently, Justice IS a big boy and did not want his mama to take any pictures of him inside his classroom. REALLY?!? Aren’t requests like that supposed to roll in around puberty? I thought for sure that I had at least 6-9 more years of him being mama’s baby boy. Boo, hoo, hoo! Oh well, I guess I’ll let him grow up. I snuck in a couple pictures anyway. I stood at the back of the classroom and did it, though. I couldn’t help myself. As you can see, he was thrilled that I did it anyway.
I’m glad the kids were excited for school to start. I loved school when I was growing up, too. Here’s to hoping that they will love it as much near the end of the school year. Now, what am I going to do with the house being so quiet during the day? Hmmm, I’ll tell you what. I’ll be cleaning and basking in the glory of a clean house for more than a half hour before it is tore up again.
